Viking tunics didn't differ much in terms of the gender of the wearer but we've made some alterations to the historical pattern to better fit the modern stature. A slimmer silhouette also helps reduce the extra fabric gathering when you have lots of layers.
The undertunic is made of fine natural flax linen of high quality. It has no decorations and features a short cut at the front of the neckline complemented by ties. The length goes almost to the knee and is unrivalled for any kind of physical activity from dragon riding to brushwood collecting.
The natural fine flax linen we use for the undergarments combines outstanding durability with unprecedented softness. What can be better for your woollen or heavily decorated ceremonial costumes than a base layer that can be easily changed and will protect the outer layer from sweat? And what can be better for your skin during hot summer events than soft-to-touch natural fiber featuring sun protection and incredible moisture-absorbing qualities? Second order from Armsteet and am NOT disappointed. The quality is top-tier while still being super comfortable and functional. I like the short cut of this shirt/chemise because it makes it practical for active events, but it's still long enough that I can get away with using it as a chemise under a dress. The linen is also thick enough where I could get away with wearing it alone if I wanted to. I followed the size guide and ordered a fixed size, and while it's a bit long on me (I'm 5'4" and it comes below my knee), everything else fits with some extra room. An excellent addition to my gear!
