“Princess in Exile” Costume 

Elegant cotton dress with velvet vest

Cotton dress “Princess in Exile”. The main material for this costume is an ordinary cotton, which makes the dress very versatile. With a deep neckline and side lacing, the bodice of the dress gently hugs the wearer and creates a pleasing silhouette, flattering any figure. This dress has distinctive puffed sleeves, and tight fitting high cuffs adorned with beautiful little buttons that allow you to change the fit to suit the occasion. The skirt is incredibly wide and drapes beautifully – we feel that the full skirt invites you to ride a horse or to go adventuring into enticing fairy lands with the same level of comfort.

Velvet bodice “Princess in Exile”. Of course, the image would not be complete without this special element - a lovely Italian velvet vest. This velvet is reinforced with haircloth that allows it to keep the shape without constraining your chest, allowing you to breathe freely. The tightness can be easily adjusted by the v-shaped front lacing without assistance. The quilted sleeves make the silhouette more holistic and bring an air of strength and orderliness, emphasizing the owner’s noble nature.

Please note: dress and chemise are custom-sized taking into account your height and measurements, but the bodice comes only in regular sizes and can't be customized remotely.

Please pay attention that provided are the real dimensions of the bodice and not your measurements. Please, choose the size of the bodice in accordance to your under bust and waist measurements. If you have borderline measurements, choose the size according to desired fit - chose smaller size for slim fit or bigger size for loose fit.

    I understand that this dress is recommended to be worn with a chemise, but would you say it’s comfortable enough to wear without a chemise. Is the chemise essential?

    Dear Sloane, yes of course, the dress can be worn on it's own. Kindly note that it has a deep neckline though.

    Hi Lara, we do not have the pictures of the burgundy dress with the vest in other colors. However, you may check how the dark blue velvet looks like on the Lost Princess bodice and the burgundy velvet looks on the Found Princess bodice.

    Since I needed the dress by a specific date, I wasn't sure whether I should order it. But due to constant communication with the seller, the dress arrived long beforehand. I have to mention that it takes a long time to put it on because it doesn't have a zipper, just laces. However, with the help of my husband, that wasn't a problem. I think that makes the dress overall very authentic. Positive: - The dress was delivered in a fabric bag and is made of a high quality fabric and is of top quality! - The skirt is super full, although a bit too long - It is super comfortable to wear and offers enough freedom of movement Unfortunately I have to say negatively that I couldn't fasten the buttons on my forearm, but that was fixed after a visit to the tailor.

    The dress was really high quality with a lovely thick Material, the details of this dress were immaculate down the the last seems holding the trim in place. 100% worth every cent. Only downside would be that the dress is definitely a two person job to put on as the side laces can be hard to reach yourself. But it’s easily fixed with the help of a friend or family member.

    What a gorgeous dress! It fits me perfectly. Due to the design/nature of the dress, it’s difficult to lift my arms all the way up from the tightness of the sleeves. Aside from that, it’s amazing.
