Gothic Armour Knight Kit

The improved, third generation of our stunning Gothic armor.

It is very difficult to deny the majesty of a full Gothic harness. “Gothic” refers to a certain style of armor and is different from the modern use of the term, or how it is used when describing architecture. Originally developed in the height of the middle ages, Gothic armor is renowned for its flawless articulation, slick aesthetic, and beautiful fluting that makes it stand out from other armor designed in this time. A lot of Gothic style armor was produced in Germany and Italy, though it can be found in many central European nations. Today, you can visit gorgeous original suits of Gothic armor that have been found, preserved and displayed in museums. Those are pretty difficult to get a hold of, though, so our master blacksmith thought that he would create ArmStreet’s own version of what could have been a functional Gothic harness from the late XV century so that you can experience fighting in such a masterpiece as well!

We are no strangers to Gothic armor - we started experimenting with it very early on, and have always had a soft spot for it. In fact, this is the third generation of our Gothic armor, refined over the years to be the perfect harness. We are always working to improve our creations, so we couldn’t be more thrilled with what we have made this time. This harness leans toward the late XV century, is optimized for cavalry and very elaborate in design - it is easy to imagine a heroic knight wearing this as he rides into battle. We have used premium materials and have left no inch of this armor unadorned. Expertly fluted panels are punctuated with solid brass rivets, twisted wire edges, punchwork and other fine details that our blacksmith has designed with pride. This is a full luxury set that includes almost all of the steel armor you need to start fighting: gorget, cuirass (front and back with tassets), pauldrons, arm harness, gauntlets, demi-legs, full wrap greaves, and sabatons. Just add a matching helmet. We also recommend buying padding to wear underneath this set – take a look at our gambesons here.

What's included in the Gothic Armour Kit in detail

The gorget takes our popular, combat optimised design and gives it a slightly fancier Gothic twist with the roped wire edge and light fluting. It is easy to take off and put on with a push-pin mechanism, and is well constructed with solid rivets. Two articulated pieces at the neck make sure it's flexible and easy to move, and it sits comfortably against your chest.

The cuirass includes a front and back plate, as well as tassets. It is created in the XV century style and is anatomically shaped to fit your torso. From the waist, three articulated faulds come down to cover your hips, with tassets attaching at the bottom for extra leg protection when you’re sitting on your horse. If you’re not in the mood for tassets, they can be easily removed via straps and re-attached later.

The pauldrons tie to the shoulder of your gambeson and are secured around your arm with a leather strap. They consist of a main lightly fluted piece, which has one articulated plate at the top of the shoulder, and four articulated plates at the bottom that complete the pauldron and protect the arm. The most notable part of these happens to be the floating besagews, which are decorated with punchwork as well as a stunning floral design, attached at the middle with a brass rivet.

The arm harness continues down from the pauldron and protects your bicep, elbow, and wrist. It is fully articulated on your joints, including unique new inner arm articulation near the elbow. The fan is generously sized and an interesting shape, folding into a point to protect your inner arm. The bracer of the arm harness is a full wrap, with fluting and a twisted wire edge up near your wrist. It closes with robust hinges on one side, and straps on the other.

The leg harness is exactly what you would expect from a Gothic cavalry harness. It gives a great deal of protection on the outside of your legs and is very well articulated, making it easy to move in. The fans of this leg harness are exactly the same as those on the arm harness: large, aesthetically pleasing, and wrapping around your leg in a way that gives you a great deal of protection.

The greaves are everything you’ve dreamed of: anatomically shaped and full wrap, curving comfortably around your foot and dropping down at the sides to cover your ankle. Down from the greaves, you’ll find perfect little sabatons, which fit together with the leg armor to provide you with maximum protection and mobility.

We have a variety of finishes available for you to choose from. We can manufacture this in either mild steel (more historical) or stainless steel (very easy to take care of and will last better), with either a mirror polish (very shiny!) or satin (more matte). It’s entirely up to you which finish you go for, and it can completely change the look of the armor! We do recommend opting for stainless steel, though, as your armor will retain its luster and continue looking brilliant without the need for constant maintenance.

Please note: helmet, gauntlets and other items shown in the pictures aren't included in the full set, but are available in our store.

Hello, I'm Asian(Chinese) and I wonder if this armor will be too big for me, I don't have that big bone structure like white people. I'm 184cm and 80kg.

    ArmStreet Team:

Hello, this armor set is made in custom size. Please fill in your measurements at the checkout and we will make the suit according to the given measurements.

    ArmStreet Team:

Hi Pratyush, it is the listing for the armor set without helmet. You may check all the products that are included in price in the listing description. The belt, chain and gamebson can be purchased in our store separately.

  • Ethan 16 of July 2019:

Hi, is it possible to get this armor but with the helmet style from "the kingmaker" set? I prefer the sallet style helmet and wonder if this set is compatible with that helmet?

    ArmStreet Team:

Hi Ethan, yes of course, the helmet is not included in the set so you may simply add the sallet to your cart along with the armor set.

I purchased this armor for a Renaissance Faire I was going to and not only were they able to get it to me just in time for my faire, they got it to me despite the fact they were fighting a WAR at the same time! I didn't know this company was based out of Ukraine when I first placed my order, but I am happy to say that if this is the customer service the company is able to provide during a war then I am extremely impressed and so happy to be a customer!

  • nickleback lover 03 of March 2021:

Awesome armor!! Price was pretty heavy but as long I use the back door of my condo, I can avoid my landlord for 2-3 more months until the I have enough money from selling my blood to repay my debt. Are there any medieval festivals in Wilmington that anyone knows of?

  • Andrew 28 of February 2021:

Everything fits alright except the arm harness which is the most INFURIATING piece in the whole set, the spring pin thats supposed to hold the forearm closed is flimsy and hilariously comes apart .001 seconds after closing it and placing it in it's slot, making that part unwearable without some kind of strap to bind it

    ArmStreet Team:

Dear Andrew, we are sorry to hear about the issue. Could you please send us several pictures showing the issue or a video so we could solve the problem?

  • AnimeBoy123 14 of August 2020:

I bought this a couple months ago and it fits like a full suit of armor should, better than the other ones I have bought.

  • Voidslayer 08 of May 2019:

Bought this a few months ago. Looks amazing and was worth every buck!
