Gothic Knight Finger Gauntlets
Articulated finger protection for combat
It is impossible to overlook the aesthetic perfection of medieval Gothic armor – in fact, museums all over the world proudly display Gothic armor as some of their most knightly, beautiful pieces. Gothic armor was found all over Europe in the middle ages, from the mid-XV century onwards. The hallmark trait of this unique armor style is the ornate folds in the metal, referred to as fluting, which gives it an artistic feel.
Gothic armor is something that we take very seriously at ArmStreet. The only thing we take even more seriously is finger gauntlets. Both gauntlets and Gothic armor have been items that we have tested, experimented with, and worked to improve over time. Though we have come up with many different designs, our blacksmiths have rarely been satisfied with the finished results, and have continued to work harder and make even more beautiful functional versions! You can rest easy knowing that these gauntlets are the most recent, updated and functional version of gauntlets to date, meaning they’re not only the best looking, but the most protective as well.
The gauntlets cover you from mid-wrist to the tips of your fingers. The wrist is entirely enclosed but remains flexible and easy to move in with the help of smooth articulation that continues all the way through the knuckles, providing additional protection when you make a fist. The fingers are dished more than they would have been historically. This is a design we decided to implement after we saw so many fingers being damaged in SCA battles and other formats of heavy combat. The thumb is also improved upon from earlier designs – it attaches to the rest of the gauntlet with a hinge and offers advanced protection compared to most other finger gauntlets.
The main parts of these gauntlets are all constructed from 1.5mm stainless steel. Some of the smaller bits of articulation are made from 1mm stainless steel, which still has great structural integrity but also allows for better flexibility. Assembled with solid brass rivets, these gauntlets are meant for combat and can take quite a beating. The gauntlets are strapped with quality leather, and include a padded internal suede glove to give you more comfort and a little bit of extra padding.
The decorative aspects of these gauntlets are not to be overlooked. Gentle fluting accents the shape up the hand from the knuckles up to the fingers, and a decorative roped edge constructed from twisted wire reinforces them but also looks utterly beautiful. Something else to consider is the surface finish on the steel. We can also make these out of mild steel, though we do highly recommend stainless steel because it holds up better in combat, and resists rust far better than mild steel can. The finishes we can offer on the steel are mirror and satin. The mirror finish is exactly as you would expect: very shiny, like a knight in shining armor. The satin finish offers a more matte effect, which is a little bit more subdued but still lustrous and eye-catching.

I've had these for about a month now and when i first got them they were really tight but over the course of me wearing them every day for practice hits they have really formed to my hands and overall they fit perfectly now. Thanks @Armstreet Team
Hello, very interested in ordering these gauntlets, for the measurements; should I measure the circumference of the wrist wearing a gambeson and perhaps the arm armour I plan to wear or simply measure my wrist circumference wearing no padding underneath?
Hi Alex, please measure the wirst circumference over the padding and armor so we could make sure the gauntlets will fit.
I measured my hand per your chart but when I received them I could barely get my hand in them a little larger glove would have made a big difference
Dear Robert, we are sorry to hear about the misfit. Kindly contact our support team with the order number so we could solve this issue.
Good evening! I was wondering if this came already attached to the inner glove or if that was a seperate thing all together? And if so could the color of the glove be negotiable?
Hi Tyler, yes the inner glove is attached and glove color can be changed. Please check all glove colors available here.
