These new Viking mittens are a perfect example: even though they’re a small aspect of your outfit, we’ve made sure that they look absolutely stunning. The pattern for these mittens is based on an Icelandic design from the 900s, so they’re traditional in shape and design. This style of mitten is very functional, allowing you to keep your hands dry and warm while still retaining some dexterity. The outside of the mitten is made from wool, with faux-shearling on the inside which will keep your fingers very toasty.

We’ve crafted these mittens from dark blue wool which has a nice warm tone to it, contrasting with the cream faux-shearling. Wool is the ideal fabric for the outer because it is water-resistant and will allow you to throw a snowball or two without your hands getting wet. The outside seam of the mitten is also embellished with hand stitching in a herringbone stitching in a contrasting light color.

These mittens are finished with a piece of amazing embroidery on the outside, created with perfectly contrasting threads that complement the navy wool. The design has been made by our team of artists to resemble a Viking knotwork duck - a motif you’ll find throughout our whole “Girda the Snowdancer” collection. The embroidery has been hand done by our team of talented embroiderers, who have immaculate attention to detail and make sure every single stitch is perfect. This kind of embroidery takes great skill and many hours to complete, making these gloves an extra-luxurious accessory that exudes style and class.
