“Old Gods” Viking Leather Body Armor

As one travels in search of their true home, they don’t want to be encumbered with heavy armor prone to rust. Instead, those who follow the Old Gods choose something light, flexible, and of course, beautiful.

This armor has been loosely inspired by the Dark Ages, and falls into what we would consider a “fantasy viking” aesthetic. The idea behind this armour rings a bell for lamellar, but a lot of creative liberty has been taken to create something that looks excellent and is truly unique! Each leather “plate” on this armour is 6.5cm x 9cm (2 4/7" x 3 4/7"), they are arranged vertically. The body armour is made from two layers of leather: a base layer of thick brown leather provides a robust foundation, and thinner white leather plates, which are attached with the help of brass rivets. This is a fairly strong vest but we think it would best suit LARP combat or light sparring quite well. 3 buckles up each side, 5 buckles up the front and 1 on each shoulder of the vest ensure you can get the best fit possible to make it both flattering and practical!

This fantastic piece of armor includes a variety of creative embossing that keeps the viking theme. The leather pieces around the edges of the garment include a wolf pattern, whereas the pieces inside the border have a basic knotwork pattern, all designed in-house by our talented team of designers. All of the straps also include knotwork on them, with only a few pieces left blank for impact. This is truly a luxury item, and no expense has been spared to make sure it looks as striking as possible, right down to the buckles on this armor - which are all to a similar theme and are hand cast, giving the whole piece a refined look with fine details.
