You’re going to fall in love with this new armor collection, and never want to take it off! Our “Morning Star” set features shiny silver with brass plating or blackened accents and is constructed from lightweight steel to make it easier to move in than any armor you’ve worn before. Specifically made to fit the female body, it is flexible and designed to move with you.

While much of our “Morning Star” collection is inspired by the XV century, this helmet is a little bit later. It is a burgonet, a Renaissance-era helmet that followed on from the sallet in Central Europe and was very popular for cavalry. One of the most common attributes of a burgonet is its cheek plates, which fold out and make it comfortable to put on and easy to get a good fit on the wearer.

Our burgonet includes lames at the bottom which make it easier to turn your head in, not hindering your movement when you look up or around. These articulated components are at the bottom of the cheek plates as well as the back of the helmet. There is a ridge going along the top of the helmet, which makes it quite strong along that point. The helmet features a little cap at the top that the visor is attached to – the visor locks in place with holes in the cap, and is secured with a strap that goes around the back.

The visor allows for great visibility, and it is easy to breathe with it on. Behind the visor are six reinforcing steel bars. Of course, because it’s so easy to attach and remove, this helmet ends up being very versatile and gives you choices about how you choose to wear it.

It's a burgonet made of 1.4mm spring steel (all parts, including segments and visor). It has a detachable visor that can be folded down or opened upward. Behind the visor, you can see 6mm steel bars. The "ears" are attached with the help of hinges.

You’ll be happy to hear that this is made from spring steel, one of the newer materials we’ve been experimenting with in the workshop. Even though spring steel is a challenge for our blacksmiths, they absolutely love working with it because it means that they’re creating durable, strong armor for our customers that is also light and easy to move in. We’ve used 1.4mm spring steel, whereas if we were using mild or stainless we would have had to make it much thicker and heavier.

This helmet has been hand forged by our experienced blacksmiths and has been created with fine details to make it a luxurious piece. It is made with premium materials, including quality leather straps, cast brass buckles, solid rivets peened securely over washers, and includes padding.

IMPORTANT: To fit correctly and prevent injury, a suit of armour must be accurately built to the measurements of the person wearing it. PLEASE take all measurements over either the gambeson or under-padding you are planning to wear with this armour. The sole exception is for persons buying armour and padding together, ArmStreet will then make the proper size adjustments for the armour based on the measurements provided for the padding.
