Armor Kit “Prince of the East”
Cuirass, pauldrons, bazubands and legs
Tales of Arabian Knights, Persian Princes, and of Jinns freed from bottles have forever held the rapt attention of audiences while talented storytellers and bards brought myth to life through their words. To honor these tales and the larger than life heroes about whom they were spun, ArmStreet presents our “Prince of the East” armour set.
Based upon historic pieces of armour residing in both the famed Tower of London and Kremlin Armoury collections, our “Prince of the East” harkens back to a time when mounted Mamluk Warriors roamed the desert and Ottoman Turks stormed the walls of Constantinople. The armour worn by these warriors was deeply etched and often inlaid with pure gold. Our ArmStreet artisans have recreated the style and beauty of the original etchings, creating an armour that will be a treasure to own for years to come.
This armour is fast, light, flexible and yet very protective. Though based on more than a single set of period armour, we are confident that this armour would be right at home during any era of the Late Middle Ages.
Wearing the “Prince of the East” puts all other fighters on the field on notice that you have come bringing your “A Game” looking to do something extraordinary so that bards will telling stories about you!
Are you “tale worthy”? Dare to live your dream.
This kit does not include a helmet; however, we offer multiple helmets that would match perfectly with this armour, for both reenactment and combat purposes. The maille shown is not included.
ArmStreet realizes that some reenactment organizations forbid the use of stainless steel for period armour. We therefore offer a Mild, Cold-Rolled Steel version as well as our stainless kit. However, we do recommend stainless steel for the foundation for our etched armour, as there is increase maintenance involved with the mild steel version.

IMPORTANT: To fit correctly and prevent injury, a suit of armour must be accurately built to the measurements of the person wearing it. PLEASE take all measurements over either the gambeson or under-padding you are planning to wear with this armour. The sole exception is for persons buying armour and padding together, ArmStreet will then make the proper size adjustments for the armour based on the measurements provided for the padding. For size measurements for sabatons, please send the actual measurements of the footwear you plan to wear under them.
Medieval Martial Arts are, by their very nature, dangerous and ArmStreet is not responsible for any injuries sustained by persons wearing their armour during the course of such activities. We cannot stress enough the importance of proper training, armour, weapons and knowledgeable supervision during these activities. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the wearer and their opponent for the safety of the participants.
Please contact us if you have any additional questions.
Safety disclaimer: Sword-fighting and fencing is a dangerous sport. Fencing, historical fencing, medieval reenactment and martial arts as well as other related types of activity, are inherently connected to a certain risk level of injuries or death. The Company declines all responsibility for any traumas or harm done to oneself or to the third person, along with any material or consequential damage, impaired during the products usage. We admonish that all acts with armour, weapons or their components have to be performed before designated person who is responsible for safety of the particular event and accredited to supervise armour and sport weapon conformance to the event’s standards.

It is a very nice suit of armor. The chest piece is not too heavy, the shoulder and arms are well made, you can move well in it. If you add the Finger Gauntlets & The Elbow Cops, it's getting harder to swing a blade, you'll have to train a little. As for the legs, they are heavy enough, and therefore, the external side always hurt my foots after couples minutes with the Leather Boots "King of the East" (Mostly because of gravity). I did fix the problem mostly by fixing the legs to a belt, but I suggest to have harder leather boots.

Can I shoot a longbow utilizing this armor?
Hi there, thanks for being interested in our products.
I don't see the reason why you couldn't shoot a longbow in this armor. But it depends essentially on the requirements of your tournament.
Can I wear this armor with regular clothing?I have a robe like the one the king of the east kit guy wear but pretty sure mine is thinner. Is it a little bit ajustable? If I loose or gain weight a bit would it screw up my armor?Thank you!
Hi Gabriel, yes of course, you may wear it without padding if you wish. Yes, armor can be adjusted a little with the help of leather straps.
So I see the chain mail isn't included, this means just the under chain or all the chain connected to the head piece ?
Hi Danielle, only the chainmail is not included.
Hey I was curious how many armor points this would give to amtgard/dagorhir.
The one would need about ten arming points for this kit. If you order the gambeson and the padded choses from our shop we`ll make the arming point for you for $30.00 extra only.
I am probably going to buy this armour sometime this year, I really love the look of it, is there any chainmail that you can recommend? Would you recommend a long sleeve gambeson or a short sleeve, I can't see what he is using in the picture. Thanks!!!
We do not produce any chainmail, sorry. As for the gambeson, taking into account that the armour is East style, we'd recommend you one of these gambesons:
Do you possibly know where I could purchase chainmail?
We can not provide you any info unfortunately, we don`t produce chainmail for sale, sorry.
Can you do a custom etching??
Custom etching is possible, please send the illustration or the pattern you like to contact@armstreet.com. Price depends on the complexity of the ornament and its size. We'll consult with our designer to estimate the price and processing time.
I am considering ordering this set. I will wear it over a chaimail/scale mail shirt but I haven't acquired it yet. Can you make adjustments to my measurements to accommodate for this or do I have to acquire the chainmail/ scalemail first?
Dear Steele, we need your measurements taken over the chainmail please.
Which gambeson do you recommend for this armor?
Hi Cora, any short gambeson will work.
Hi, Any chance you might have information on where (if I could) I could find the sword used in the prince of the east pictures ? Thank you.
Hello, you may find our swords here: https://dangerousknives.com/
I suppose the chainamil is not included?
The chainmail is not included, we do not produce chainmail for sale.
Would I be able to order this without the etching designs? Just blank and un-decorated?
You'll save 15% of initial price. To get the discount, please email us at contact@armstreet.com.
I am planning on putting in an armor/gambeson order and I was wondering if I could get some extra string for tying up the knight of the west tunics I have. Also, how would you recommend taking care of the prince of the east armor and the knight of the west tunics? Thank you
Do you mean the trim or the string for the arming points? Please email us at contact@armstreet.com after purchasing.
The tunic is machine washable, use 40°C (104°F) water for wash in gentle mode. Use color safe laundry detergent. Extraction (spinning) in delicate mode to simplify the ironing. Please don't use hot drying and do not pre-soak.
You can clean and polish the armor with a dry soft cloth and some sort of oil (for example, waste engine oil). Do not polish the surface with the abrasive materials. Water ingress is permissible, but not desirable (do not wipe the product with a damp cloth, do not immerse in water, do not wash in the washing machine). After each use, the armor should be cleaned and wiped dry. Keep the armor in dry ventilated area, sudden temperature changes must be excluded. Before the long-term storage, make sure that all parts of the armor are clean, dry and completely covered with oil.
Hi there, I was just wondering if you had a gorget in this style suitable for SCA, or is the Aventail on your helmets are SCA legal?
There is no matching gorget in this set, the neck is covered with the aventail of the Turban Helmet “Prince of the East”. For SCA the helmet can be equipped with SCA-grade hidden protection upon request.
What would be the approximate weight for the stainless full set (without helmet) - someone 6ft tall with medium build (180 pounds)
About 15-18 kg (33-40 lbs).
Ottoman ?
Rather, Persian.
Is this armor sca approved?
Bazubands should be SCA-adjusted (this option is free if you order the full set).
Other pieces are SCA-legal according to the Marshal's Handbook.
We recommend to consult with your local marshal previously.
Hey i was just wondering if this came with the chain mail because it isn't listed in the contents.
The chainmail is not included, we do not produce it for sale.
