If you’re looking for feminine medieval clothing that’s well-made and ready to wear, look no further than our “Townswoman” collection. Simple patterns are combined with fine-finishing to create wonderful items that will fit into any medieval wardrobe. This cloak is a work of fantasy but if sure to look great with any costume.
There’s a certain time of year that calls for a cloak: shadows become longer and the air becomes damp and chilly. When autumn truly sets in and the winter starts to threaten, there’s no better fabric to consider than wool. Dense wool keeps you safe from the cold and heats you up, even during the rain. This cloak includes a mantle and hood that gives you much-needed warmth without cramping your style, and actually adds to your costume and makes it even better!
This cloak is so much more than just functional – it’s decorated with cut-outs and cord to emphasize the beautiful patterns. The designs twist their way across the mantle of the cloak, outlined by a cord that really adds dimension. The exact same kind of patterns is continued along the bottom of the cloak, giving the whole piece a very complete look. The hood of the cloak protects you from the elements and is lined with fine cotton to make it more comfortable, and a strip of contrasting wool around the face makes the hood pop. Tassels at the center of the mantle can be used to keep the cloak closed.
This whole piece, including the applique designs that look like peaks and sunsets, have been designed by our artists here at ArmStreet, so you won’t find anything quite like this cloak anywhere else!
This is a very well made item – you’ll have to see it yourself to truly understand how lovely it is!. Any exposed edges of the wool on the inside have been finished with the same cord that adorns the patterns on the outside, which brings a sense of continuity and fine finishing to the whole piece.
As we have now black cord only for ornaments bordering, the range of possible colour combinations is limited to the following: either main colour of the cloak or the colour of the cut-outs should be black or dark blue.
Due to cut particular characteristics the cape can't be longer than 140 cm (55'') from the neckline to the lower hem. It means that if your height is more than 173 cm (68''), the hem of the cape won't touch the ground.
