As I grow older, I no longer know if the images I hold of her were a dream or simply distant memories. She would walk through the gardens in her underclothes, the tips of her hair dancing in the breeze… Regardless, I can still see her there, clear as day.
Feminine, delicate and dreamy, our new “Renaissance Memories” Collection is a beautiful combination of history and modern design. We have taken inspiration from a loose historical period, ranging between the XIII century, up to the Renaissance. The result of this is that this collection suits a number of different time periods, and is versatile enough to work with a range of different characters - from princesses to farm girls.
This garment is the headwear equivalent of a chemise. It can be worn on its own to shield your hair and protect your modesty, as well as keep your hair out of your face while you work. It can also be worn under your hat, circlet or veil to protect your more expensive headwear from the oils of your hair. Specifically, we based this little cap on the historical “St Brigitta’s Cap”, a head covering with plenty of historical research around it, first appearing towards the XIII century in the famous Maciejowski Bible.
We have constructed this cap from the same linen we use for all of our other medieval underwear. It is fine linen that feels lovely next to your skin and is sheer and soft. The central seam of the cap sits down the middle of your head, similar to how historical examples were made. To accommodate the shape of your head, the cap grows larger towards the back and is fitted with two drawstrings to makes sure you can get a good fit. These strings are then wrapped around your head twice to create the complete look. Though this garment is based on historical sources, it is not an exact replica – we have taken a few liberties to make it easy to wear and more comfortable.
Adding a hat to your costume instantly makes it more realistic and makes you look more like a real medieval person, instead of just a modern person wearing a costume! We believe that this cap is applicable to many different characters, and can’t wait to see what kind of characters you choose to wear it with.

Hi, I am interested in this Renaissance Memories Brigitta Cap. My head is on the larger side (23 inches in circumference across the eyebrows). Will this cap fit me? Thank you!

This is just what I was looking for. I wanted a plain one I could embroider myself and I love the end result! I like how light and airy the fabric is to wear but the edge provides a nice sturdy base to embroider.
Ordered this to wear as a nightcap, my hair is long and bothers me in the Florida heat. Works great!
I purchased two of the St. Brigitta caps. It didn't take long for them to arrive safely and undamaged. The quality of the caps are wonderful and I am looking forward to wearing them at faire this year. I highly recommend Armstreet for the beauty and high quality of their products. I will happily shop with them again. Thank you.
