Woolen dress "Queen of Roses"
Limited wool medieval wedding dress
Inspired by Margaret of Anjou, the queen who led the House of Lancaster in the Wars of the Roses, this medieval woolen dress with red sleeves is a tribute to women who wear power as naturally as they wear a gown. This medieval times women’s clothing embodies strength and elegance, sharp as a sword. She can wear a crown, command armies, make difficult decisions that change the world, and claim her place in history on her own terms. When no one else can do what must be done, she does it herself — in a dress, with her head held high.
The clean white silhouette meets blood-red sleeves, creating a striking contrast that balances strength with refinement in our newest take on medieval wedding clothes. The same colors appear in a unique ArmStreet trim and are highlighted by metal details. Not a historical reconstruction, but a modern interpretation of power and dignity expressed through dress. This medieval bride dress draws inspiration from the second half of the 14th century. This wedding medieval dress is made of the finest woolen cloth and features a wide scoop neckline, rich beadwork and bugle embroidery, a low waistline, and tight side lacing that gives the attire its distinctive shape.
Another characteristic trait of the wool medieval dress is its long sleeves, decorated with numerous tiny buttons. The sleeves attach to the dress with linen laces, as was common for medieval wedding gowns of the period.
The wide, floor-length skirt with four inserts measures approximately 6.5–7.6 yards (6–7 meters) along the hemline and drapes beautifully. The so-called “hell windows” are the trim-finished cut-outs in the skirt which allow to hold up the front of medieval wedding dresses.
