Blank face shield for further painting, 27"
Here comes fully functional and battle ready Vikings' blank shield. No shield was as preferred as the round shield among Vikings. Its light weight and traditional shape allow both maneuverability and perfect torso defense.
The key feature of the shield is its blank face, left open for further coating and/or painting. It can be personalized to show off your own heraldry, family crest, or even left as-is. Consider this shield if fighting in a club, and strengthen the team spirit by painting your shields in a similar manner! Use any natural or modern dyes, but remember of coating it with a layer of lacquer to keep it sealed and safe from moisture.
The shield is crafted entirely from thick plywood and edged with rubber in accordance with the SCA requirements in order to minimize damage during reenactment battles. The edges are rimmed with leather to keep its authentic look. Sturdy canvas covering gives it the same hardy strength as our leather-covered shields. Features a well-rounded 14 gauge stainless steel boss at the center, adorned with an etched brass plate. Note, you can choose one of four etching patterns for this plate: Serpent, Dragon, Wolves or Thistle. Possesses a wooden handle on the back, covered with genuine leather and riveted to the main body.

Kristina 15 of May 2020:Medium Viking Shield to Paint (Black Leather and Brass Wolf Boss) I purchased this shield to act as a standard for my tent at events. It is absolutely gorgeous, well built, and has garnered numerous complements. The canvas is primed for easy paint application, and after sealing has needed minimum touch ups even after two event seasons (2018 and 2019) in the sometimes unpredictable Colorado weather. I consider this to be one of the best non-garment purchases I have ever made. Thank you for your continued dedication to creating amazing quality.
