Pourpoint “Knight of Fortune”

Woolen padded gambeson, late 14th c.

This gambeson is our simple version of 14th century Charles de Blois and Charles VI style gambeson. This under armor gear works best with plate armor kits, but it also can be proudly worn by itself. This gambeson has been made as a part of our “Knight of Fortune” collection, it matches other pieces from it but it also can be used with our other suits of knight armor.

This gambeson is made of good quality wool with leather trimming and handmade buttons.

Please note that dark blue wool has a very dark shade, that may appear black under electric light indoors.

Can be made in fixed sizes only, please check our size chart. According to the size chart the hips' circumference corresponds to the following sizes:

  • size S: 34 1/2 - 38 1/2 in (88-98 cm)

Dose this come with stripes to attach the armor too I don’t see lacing on the gambeson for the armor set ?

    ArmStreet Team:

Arming points can be added upon request. Please leave this comment to your order at the checkout.

What exactly is the difference between this and the kings guard pourpoint. Some of the pictures are the same on both this and the other one, Does the kings guard have more layers or a different fabric?

    ArmStreet Team:

Hi Shane! The King's Guard gambeson is made of velvet. This one is made of wool.

  • Eli 27 of August 2018:

Two quick questions. Could this gambeson be made of linen, rather than wool? How many layers of padding does it have/how thick is it?

    ArmStreet:

Hi Eli! Yes, we can make it of linen. It has 2 layers of padding.

  • Tristan 09 of August 2018:

How many layers are there. It looks like 2-3 in the picture.

    ArmStreet Team:

Hi Tristan, usually we make it with 2 layers of batting.

  • Rhys 05 of August 2016:

Howdy! I've been eyeing this item and have been wondering if this would be thick enough for steel sparring?

    ArmStreet team:

Basically this gambeson is thick enough for steel sparring, but we could tell you more surely if you specified which kind of steel sparring you`re going to do and what league or club you participate.

  • Anky Bhak 02 of April 2016:

will this protect me from zombie bites?

    ArmStreet team:

Yeah, it surely will! None of zombies can bite through its thick padding!

  • Jonathan McCartney 06 of February 2016:

Good afternoon, I had another question. Can this be made with linen like your other gambesons? The elven one comes to mind, which I have and is fantastic by the way! I am just concerned with getting a gambeson with a wool exterior, as I would think it would be much warmer as compared to linen. Also, can arming points be attached at the biceps for arm armor? As always, thank you for your time and I look forward to a response.

    ArmStreet Team:

Hi Jonathan, yes it is possible, please contact our support team for details. Yes, of course, we can add arming points.
