Does the blackening of the steel scales make them more rust resistant? I live in a part of Australia that rains a lot so that is a concern for me.

    ArmStreet:

Blackening makes steel significantly more rust resistant, but layer of blackened metal surface becomes thiner during active armor usage so stainless steel version is more apropriate for wet climate.

You can use blackned armor as well but to keep it in good condition you need to remove wetness from it after usage and wipe it with motor oil from time to time
