“Mythical Beasts” Etched Pauldrons
Removable rondel stainless steel shoulder armor
This armor is inspired by the transitional period between the XIV-XV centuries. Functional, slick and attractive, it is actually one of our oldest designs, which we have re-made recently to include all of our lastest armoring technologies and the increased knowledge that comes with armoring experience. Compared to our old Paladin set, it has added flexibility, a more refined look, and of course our newest creation: removable rondels that provide additional customization options.
These pauldrons start at the top of your shoulder and are attached to your arming garment with the help of two holes you can pass lacing through. They drape over your shoulder to about halfway down your bicep, giving you decent coverage of your upper arm, and doing up with a leather strap and buckle. Though they cover a lot of space, it is still easy to move and fight in the armor because of the great flexibility created by the lames (sheets of metal riveted together opposed to one solid piece). The shoulder covering part of this armor starts with two upper lames which connect to the main part of the pauldron, which is then followed by three more lames that protect your upper arm. They are all connected with a series of rivets and strong leather strapping that will allow you to move with ease.
The most fantastic part of this set of pauldrons is the etching – something that ArmStreet has become quite well known for! This etching is ArmStreet exclusive and designed by our talented team of artists, taking inspiration from historical manuscripts, art, and existing extant armor pieces. It consists of skulls and shapes which compliment each other, as well as a rondel which comes with basic floral etching. To increase the amount of customization that we offer, we have also made this rondel removable, and replaceable with a whole menagerie of different mythical beasts, inspired by folklore and legends from all over the world.
This armor is made from premium materials and very well finished. All sharp edges have either been rounded off or rolled, all leather is high-quality and strong, and the buckles are medieval in nature opposed to modern. We have used stainless steel as our main materials, which has a beautiful shine and is far less likely to rust than mild steel – makes it an ideal choice for SCA and LARP. The rivets we have used are solid and have been peened over washers at the back for extra longevity. Overall, this item is well built and ready to go with you on your adventures!

Would it be possible to get a custom animal etched on the rondel?
Hello, it depends on the design. Please send us a picture of the animal you would like to be etched so we could tell if it is possible.
Would love to see these mythical beast etchings on a women’s belt, like the one for Lost Princess someday!
