Short Celtic Medieval Shoes

Handmade shoes

These great shoes are important part of any medieval attire. They will complete your medieval or SCA character`s costume perfectly.
Shoes are 100% handmade of natural leather. They are historically accurate and durable soft footwear as well. Authentic image is manually burned on the rear side.
The outsole is made of natural hard leather. Take into account that medieval shoes have to be used on soft surfaces if you want them serving for years. You can order them with the rubber outsole instead of the leather one if you need these shoes for any type of fight practice or if you are planning to use them on modern hard roads.
Add a comment to your order, if you want these shoes without the burned image or with the rubber outsole.

Historical reference:

These shoes are authentic to simple but functional design that was typical for shoes of medieval period. In those times an outsole was made of much harder leather to protect both feet and boot. In our shoes it is reliably sewed to the boot and thread is hidden into a cut in outsole to prevent it from fraying. The thread is stronger because of additional glue soaking.
Shoes are made in accordance to original pattern found in 1994 at “Rurikovo gorodische”, ancient Novgorod. It is one of the oldest and the strongest North Europe strongholds.

Important note about measurements:

Please take your measurements attentively - it will help us making medieval shoes that will fit you perfectly.
Also you should know that your new shoes will get your feet shape after one or two days of usage because natural leather is soft material and it will stretch. So when you are getting your shoes it is normal that it fit very slim.

Please contact us if you have any additional questions.

Important note: Brown, Natural and Cream leather shades may vary, as unfortunately we can't control color of leather which comes from our suppliers. Sometimes it may be darker or lighter, so if tone of the leather is important factor for you, please contact us before purchase to ascertain which color exactly we have in stock at the moment. Thank you for understanding.

are these shoes durable for day to day activities? ex. walking to the store or taking my dogs for a walk.

    ArmStreet team:

Yes, these shoes are absolutely functional and suitable for everyday wear, many of our customers wear their medieval-style footwear regularly. We recommend to go with the rubber sole, it's more practical and resistant to damage.

are these shoes unisex?i need to know cause i don't want to order them and them be mens' shoes.

    ArmStreet team:

Yes, such shoes can be worn by both men and women. Before the 13th-15th centuries the difference between male and female costume was very small, especially among the Slavic peoples.

Hello. These shoes are perfect looking, but is the inside sole of the shoe flat? Thank you, Lily

    ArmStreet team:

The insole is flat, there are no orthopedic insoles. You may need to purchase special insoles separately.
