“Olegg the Mercenary” viking decorative seax
Stainless steel viking seax with etching
The seax, meaning “knife” in Old English, was generally a single edged weapon and very popular in the dark ages. The shape corresponds to the forging technology at the time, which would leave the finished product with the bladed end longer than the other edge. This MASSIVE seax sits somewhere between a knife and a sword for size, and would suit the kind of character who feels like they need the biggest dagger in the room. Is it a weapon or a tool? We’ll leave that to you to decide.
This spectacle of a weapon is made from 1.5mm stainless steel, and is hollow inside. As this weapon is purely decorative, the “blade” portion is blunt and is best used as a prop. The guard at the bottom of the seax is made from 5mm brass and is finished with a beautiful wood handle. Along the blade you’ll find knot work etching that continues with the viking motif whilst giving the seax a little bit of fancy flair.
