Your crocked closed visor doesn't provide a full view and hinders breathing? Hold over dumping your good old helm, now there is a way out with a new unique visor, which allows you to see and breathe same as using a grid bar grille, but makes you look like a king!
To install it, simply rotate the vertical clasp clockwise 90 degrees, attach the visor to the helmet and turn it anticlockwise all the way down - it's way easier and faster than to charge a smartphone or to replace the batteries. And most importantly, such a turntable klappvisier mount is completely historically authentic, and can be seen on the Veste Coburg klappvisor, bascinets from Leeds and Sitten and many more, dated 14-15 centuries and found in archaeological excavations all over the Europe. It’s made to fit the Stainless Bascinet Helmet but works well with any center-hinged bascinet too.
Its elongated shape, based on the Stibbert Museum “Longface” Italian klappvisor, covers the jaw line and together with 6 gauge stainless steel provides complete face protection. The distance between all the rods is less than 1 inch, that makes it SCA compliant for sure.
We’ve looked through the bunch of miniature paintings to get into the medieval spirit while working on its cut-out design and the result lies before you. The subtle slits resemble arched vaults, stained-glass windows of an ancient castle and arrow-slits of the fortresses, and a splash of floral motifs at the top amps up the spirit of romance. It's not easy being historically appropriate these days, but you'll manage!
