SCA appropriate bar grille visor has already become such a common attribute of medieval battles as if all the participants collectively agreed not to notice its ugliness and inconsistency to the era. Though the advantages are obvious: better visibility and air exchange are both admirable qualities of the helm, vital in close combat and even more so in a buhurt. Sure thing, open face is important, but hell, this was meant to be a medieval reenactment, not hockey! - we once thought and decided to remedy the situation, creating a worthy alternative to that grid misunderstanding.

It should be first and foremost as strong - so we decided on 5 mm steel – and provide a perfect view, but apart from that, it should be in tune with medieval aesthetics, without resembling a goaltender mask. So here’s one of the three laser-cut visors we’ve made to match the Stainless Bascinet Helmet, taking it as the basis for the excellent glancing properties. The visor is made of high-quality stainless steel 6 gauge thick and fits all our klappvisier bascinets. Made strictly according to the SCA armour requirements, listed in the Marshal’s Handbook, it has no gaps larger than 1 inch in any projection.

The symmetrical pattern of the Trefoil visor was specially created by our designers in-house and cut out with a laser. It combines the images of vaulted architectural elements inherent in Gothic style and floral motifs, reminiscing of a fantastic stained-glass artwork. Strong and unique, it will make a great complement to your favorite helm. It’s time to get rid of Darth Vader’s masks in the medieval world!
