The mail standard is a piece of armor that definitely adds a “realistic” historical vibe to our “Sellsword” armor. While, for practical purposes, sword-fighters primarily use steel or leather gorgets or a combination of those, the riveted chainmail standard is a period-looking piece of armor. It allows you to turn the practical “Sellsword” kit into a more historically oriented set of plate armor.

Riveted rings are the best solution for maille, and blackening is the option that makes it look cool while protecting the rings from rust.

We’ve finished off this standard with a strip of leather that edges the top in a way that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, featuring neat, exposed stitching to give it some texture. This gorget closes at the back with a single robust strap.
