So, the only difference between these greaves and the “Sellsword” greaves with knee kops is the finish. They are made of tempered spring steel and have a satin finish, but a mirror finish is also on the table.

Tempered spring steel is one of the best materials for armor making; it requires significantly more labor than stainless or mild steel cold forging, but the result is armor that is 25-30% lighter with the same or better protective properties. The whole idea of this armor line is centered on functionality and practical perfection. We kept the design as simple as possible, only focusing on the clean ergonomical lines, and keeping in mind several categories of customers who might find this line the best for their goals: SCA heavy and live-steel fencers who need essential protection of critical areas but don’t want to go full tank with complete knight armor kit; LARPers who wish to feel and use a real armor while still doing a lot of running and moving on and off the field; and a growing community of HEMA harnischfechten fencers.

The design of these particular legs is quite simple: a front greave and a laced-up cops will give you basic leg protection. If you want thigh cuisses, you can order them as an extra piece. Take a look at Medieval Rieneck Armor Legs  as a reference to the cuisses’ design.

Both greaves and knees can be used separately if needed, which also adds to the versatility of this particular armor kit.
