Spring steel WMA SCA armour neck protection

Neck protection is one of the most critical issues in practically all swordplay formats, from SCA heavy to cut-and-thrust, HEMA harnischfechten to live steel WMA tournaments. Well, anyway, it’s hard to overestimate the importance of neck protection. Also, gorgets, especially when it comes to full-metal ones, are relatively tricky to be properly shaped, so they are usually either sub-optimal or quite expensive. Following the logic of our “Sellsword” and “Hedge Knight” kits, we wanted to make an armor without ArmStreet’s usual whistles and bells, but well-shaped, practical, and universal.

So, this gorget is essentially a simplified version of the “Dark Wolf” gorget, made with the sole purpose of being your reliable protection in combat practice. It is made of tempered spring steel as a default option, meaning it’s hard and lightweight, so with a proper fit, you’ll forget about the fact that you are wearing the armor and will be able to focus on your sword-play.
