In modern clothing we are lucky to have pockets, but back in the Middle Ages the only way to keep your keys, coins and other valuable possessions handy were bags. Historical findings have shown us the astounding variety of shapes, materials and ways to wear those essential medieval accessories. This particular leather bag is inspired by the late medieval style and will fit many characters. It is a belt pouch, which means the belt goes through the loops at the top of the bag and secures it at your hips level approximately. Its other name is "kidney pouch" and they are usually associated with XIV-XV centuries. Both now and then, not only was it a convenient accessory but also a piece of fashion, a statement, and a way to stand out.

This bag allows you to neatly organize everything you want to carry with you, thanks to its inner pockets. There is one larger pocket and three little pouchlets with drawstrings, all securely covered by the front flap. Inner pockets are made of soft suede and are matching in color with the contrasting leather bordering on the outside.

The embossing on the flap depicts a bear surrounded by floral ornaments. To allow better blending with the "Timeless Middle Ages” collection's accessories, the main embossing is accompanied by geometrical patterns on the belt loops. Like many other creations in our store, these motifs are not inherited from an existing historical reference, but are the fruits of our design team's labor. It was inspired by medieval findings and therefore looks very natural as part of the SCA persona's wardrobe.
