“Morning Star” Sword with Scabbard
XV-XVI century ornamental weapon
If you’re looking for a sword that’s beautiful and brutal, you’ve found it! This sword is inspired by the XV-XVI century, and is a stunning combination of historical features and artistic creativity that really takes it above and beyond what you would expect. Made to match our “Morning Star” collection of female armor, this sword is unisex and sure to catch the eye of friends and foes alike.
During the Viking ages, swords were very rare weapons that would have almost never been seen by the average villager. However, by the XV-XVI century, swords were very common weapons used by everyone from footmen to knights. This particular sword is slightly longer than your average arming sword, and fits somewhere between that and a longsword. We imagine it would have been used by a noble or knight, as this is a particular fine weapon with an equally extravagant scabbard.
The main features of the sword are slightly curved quillons with a ring hilt, a fullered blade with a ricasso, a hilt with enough room to either be one handed or hand-and-a-half, and a lovely geometric pommel. It is crafted from 1.5mm stainless steel with contrasting brass stainless used on the hilt, with a leather wrap on the hilt.
The scabbard for this sword is like nothing we’ve ever made before, with many options to allow you to customise the scabbard and make it your own. It is crafted from stainless steel, and has many options for the finish, include matte, polished, brassed, blackened spring steel, or even covered in leather. The inside of the scabbard features leather to help the sword slide in comfortably. The bordering for the scabbard can be regular steel or brassed, and it can be made with either laser-cut diamond accents or just plain. We decided to make such a versatile deign because we really wanted to give our customers a choice in creating something more true to their character.
This sword is purely ornamental, meaning it is both hollow and blunted. We have made it in a way that means you will not be able to hone or sharpen it, which makes it a great choice for photo shoots, cosplay, or theatre. We also think it would look lovely on your wall as a decoration, but keep in mind that it will never actually aid you in martial arts or battle.
Please contact us if you would like to have satin polishing instead of default mirror polishing or have any additional questions.
Important note: this item is intended to be used as a decorative piece only. This sword is not a weapon, it can't be sharpened and must be used only in places where it is safe: away from children and any other people and objects that may be accidentally harmed. Please use it responsibly and take into account that by buying this piece you confirm that you agree to take full responsibility for your safety and the safety of other people that may be potentially harmed.
