Working on the "Fireside Family" we kept in mind the demand for the basic early medieval costume. We designed it to be simple yet high quality and to have everything that makes it recognizable but leaves room for personalization and layering to create your unique look.
This chemise is a necessary hidden part of the early medieval costume. It is made of high-quality natural fine linen and supposed to be the first layer of any costume, practically taking functions of the underwear when it comes to the historically grounded use. Also, like any other ArmStreet costume, it is a little bit more than what you see, with a very precise balance between the wide skirt and slightly tighter upper body part, high-quality french seams, and simple neckline. It is a perfect undertunic for most medieval characters, subtly inclined to the XI-XII century style the whole collection is based on.
The flax linen we use is one of the best fabrics ever existed in human history: it is sturdy but it is getting softer with time and becomes more comfortable, and it is also known for the great sun and heat protective qualities which make this tunic perfect underwear for the summer days. It is also pretty thin and due to the cut of the sleeves getting a little bit more narrow to the wrist, you won't have extra fabric when you squeeze your arms into the next layer sleeves.
Make your wrist cuffs and neckline lacing slightly visible when you put on your second layer dress and everyone around will see a properly layered medieval outfit.
Please note: the charcoal fine flax linen is much thinner and therefore significantly more transparent than our regular fine linen fabrics.

This looks very similar to the Eydis Springdancer chemise.. perhaps a bit looser & less fitted?.. is that accurate?
Hello, it is a different dress with a different pattern.
