Practice Rebated Steel Tournaments Western Sword

    Circa XII-XIII

One of the most classic western swords for training or rebated steel free-play. Both blade and cross-guard of this sword are based on classic western sword design. The blade has classic narrow fuller following for the most of the blade's length (which reduces blade's overall weight and increase its' lateral rigidity without compromising its strength) and simple and elegant round pommel which is also typical for the swords of the period.

This is exclusive etched version. Both sword and cross-guard has beautiful inscriptions. Decorative flower pattern or cross-guard and Latin inscription on the blade:

    • Lat. Ps. 144:1 Benedictus Do[minu]s Deus me[u]s, qui docet manu[s] [meas ad prælium, et digitos meos ad bellum]
    • Eng. Ps. 144:1 Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands [to war, and my fingers to fight]

It is historically accurate for Latin well-known phrase that is is shortened.

Blade has linear taper from guard to the point in both width and thickness dimensions insuring perfect balance around 75-80 mm (3'') from the cross-guard. Such balance and weight provides great maneuverability and blow speed. Blade shape is typical for later European arming swords as well as the weight of the sword. The sword's blade has a heat treatment grade sufficient for the long life as tournament weapon but less then it's necessary to make it sharp. For ethical and legal reasons we are providing swords for sport usage only, not a weapon!

When you ship this item does the customs declaration say fencing or sporting goods?

      ArmStreet team:

Parcels with swords are declared as "decorative art".

What about a scabbard for this sword?

      ArmStreet team:

To date the swords come without scabbard, but we have some frogs here.

Does this sword come with a scabbard and belt?
