Gothic Knight Full-Wrap Greaves

XV century anatomically shaped lower leg protection

Gothic medieval armor is some of the most stunning historical combat protection you will ever have the pleasure of seeing. Found all over Europe in the XV century, this style of armor was revered for being aesthetically pleasing as well as incredibly functional, especially in regard to ease of movement. Nowadays, you can find this armor in private collections, historical displays and most of the most famous museums in the world, proudly displayed and maintained.

We know exactly how much craftsmanship armor of this caliber requires. Our master smith has been working for years to create the ultimate set of Gothic armor, and has been very successful in the past! It’s not that our past version wasn’t great - it’s just that this one is even better. Many experiments and lots of hard work has produced this, our third generation of gothic armor, which sports the most beautiful anatomically shaped greaves you have ever seen. Yes, we can see you drooling through the computer screen!

These beautiful greaves cover your lower legs and provide excellent protection. The greaves begin just under the knee with two small lames, articulated at the back with leather to allow for extra movement. Everything about these greaves is incredibly well fitted and anatomically shaped to hug your legs completely. The main part consists of two shaped plates connected with a hinge, and fasten closed with the help of subtle and easy to use push pins. At the bottom of the greaves, they are shaped around the front and back of your foot to allow you to wear sabatons and dip down over your ankles to protect the sides of your feet. The bottom edge is finished with a beautiful roped edge.

There are two different surfaces finishes you can choose for these greaves: satin polish and mirror. Satin has a matte effect to it that doesn’t reflect light nearly as much as the mirror polish does. If you’re looking to be a knight in shining armor, mirror is probably the right finish for you! However, if you’d like something a little bit more subdued, satin finish might be the better choice. We can also construct these greaves from mild steel, though we strongly encourage you to stick with stainless steel - mild steel does not hold up to rust well and is not as strong as stainless steel.

Please keep in mind that precise measurements are incredibly important when it comes to these greaves fitting in the most comfortable way possible. Please make sure you take the correct measurements, and then check again!
