Store — Medieval armor — Medieval Lamellar Blackened Armor Body Suit

The lamellar armor is the best one from various points of view because of great balance between flexibility, protection and weight.

Armor is made of blackened cold-rolled 1mm thick scales that is absolutely enough because of double-covering and great shock-absorption peculiarity of lamellar armor. The shoulders and front/back plates are made of CR steel (1.5 mm i.e. 16 ga).

Each line of scales is covered with red leather for the best shock-absorption and contact between scales. There are 10 holes in each scale in accordance to the authentic Mongolian design - the most complicated and reliable fastening way. Comparing with the previous version armor is upgraded with wider shoulders - they have better appearance and protect arm from almost all sides.

General specifications:

-About 780 scales (i.e. more then 7000 holes lacing comes through) for regular L size

-Oil blackened cold-rolled scales and plates

-More then 180 yards of lacing

-Leather covering along each scales line bottom

-The base case of the armor consists of:  2 shoulder plates, 2 lamellar spaulders, front and chest upper plates, body and back lamellar segments and 4 tassets - absolutely in accordance to the pictures, what you see is what you get.

Base case of the lamellar armor approximately has following weights for the different sizes:

S (chest 33" - 35") - 33lb;

M (chest 35" - 38") - 38lb;

L (chest 38" - 42") - 44lb;

XL (chest 42" - 46") - 50lb.

The shoulders and the tassets are the optional elements of the armor and their length can vary according to the customer's request. You can also choose natural leather lacing for extra charge. (For any of these options you should contact our manager.)
