Accessorizing your belt and hanging things from it is an easy way to adorn your costume and make it look more interesting. There are many different things that can be hung from a belt, such as small bags, coin purses weapon holders, clothing… where there is a will, there is a way. This time, though, we’ve done something a little bit different: a Viking inspired chatelaine.
A chatelaine is an ancient creation that has been used for centuries to assist people in carrying everyday tools around on their belts. Often worn by women (but still a gender-neutral accessory), people would attach eating utensils, knives, thimbles, tweezers, and other practical items so that they would always have them on hand.
This item consists of four pieces. The main piece, which is the part that you hang from your belt, is a delicately laser cut hanger, based on Viking knotwork. It is made from 1.5mm brass, with 1mm blackened brass reinforcing the area behind the knotwork ducks and giving it another dimension. From the main piece, three circles on the bottom of the pattern allow for the utensils to be hung. The first utensil is a pricker, which is a great utility item and can be used to pick up small pieces of food, clean fingernails, and a number of other practical uses. The second item is a beautiful little spoon. The final item is a two-pronged fork.
The utensils have been made from 3mm stainless steel, meaning they will be easy for you to clean and not susceptible to rust. They are small and not unwieldy, but still big enough to be useful. The utensils attach to the hanger with the help of robust little chains finished with a hook, which can be removed easily but is quite strong.

Pretty neat and certainly an attention getter. The only thing that you will need is a seax or similar to actually cut a chunk of anything. The pick is good for somethings and certainly makes a dandy toothpick but be careful very sharp. Makes a good weapon in a brawl when you can't have weapons at a feast (HAHA just kdiing). Excellent craftsmanship as always.

I finally ordered this gem and I when I got I was super excited! The quality is very good, it feels very heavy and the shine js great. The pin and the fork are also razorsharp. Do be careful when walking around with these, I think I will make them a little less sharp so when I do happen to fall down or anything, I t will not be dangerous. Overall, a really beautiful and useful product.
