We understand why people avoid medieval shoes: they’re uncomfortable, usually completely flat and offer no grip. When it comes to designing a costume, having modern shoes seems like a small sacrifice to make for comfort and reliability, right? Well, at ArmStreet, we believe that you shouldn't have to sacrifice beauty for comfort, so we set about creating a pair of sneakers that look fantastic, but still offer you similar comfort to modern footwear.
In order to make these the best shoes possible, we have applied a combination of modern and medieval shoemaking techniques. Instead of using medieval patterning, we have used modern shoe lasts to get the most comfortable shape possible for your foot. While these shoes still appear flat and medieval on the outside, they actually offer a little bit more hidden support on the inside. The very bottom of the shoe has a rubber outsole to give you a little bit more grip. Underneath this outsole, you’ll find leather fibreboard, a breathable orthopedic base, and a leather insole. This leads to a more comfortable shoe overall.
The embossing on these shoes is so noticeable because we have used a lovely leather with a slightly matte finish, which is flexible but strong. The designs are wolves, inspired by Viking art and knot-work, and created by our team of graphic designers. A contrasting leather is used to line the inside of the shoe, and machine stitching has been used throughout to make sure all of the seams are nice and tight. A strap of leather with knotwork embossing is used to hold the shoes closed - this does up with an attractive cast brass buckle.
To prolong the life of these shoes, don’t forget to treat them with respect! Let them dry between each wear, keep them free of dirt and mud when you’re not wearing them, and store them in a place where they won’t be squished. You can use “shoe trees” or even crumpled newspaper to help protect their shape.
Important note about measurements:
Please be accurate taking measurements – this vastly influences our ability to make an item that will suit you perfectly. Also, you should remember that natural leather is soft material and it will stretch, so when you receive your shoes it is normal that it fits very slim. It will adjust to the shape of your feet after one or two days of usage.

Beautiful boots, and well made. My only complaint is that the heel area is a bit loose, despite the boots being custom fitted with measurements that were as accurate as I could manage.

The shipping took shorter than expected, which was a delightful surprise given the global situation that is also affecting the postal system. I ordered a size 7, and when I put these boots on, they felt as if someone had crafted them to fit my feet exactly. I was very pleased with the fit and how they looked, as well as the beauty of the craftsmanship, and I felt great in them which is a lovely feeling to have when wearing something. I have only been able to wear them inside as of yet, as the winters in my city are quite heavy on footwear as it is. I am looking forward to running around in the local forests with them when the snow goes away.

Surprisingly I was emailed by Armstreet to leave a review of these boots. I left an initial review, and this is about 90- days from my original purchase. That being said, These boots have still held true to battle game abuse, the top threading has stretched a little bit, but not broken. The outer leather is still in great condition, and the inside is holding up great. an unfortunate accident bent one of the buckles needles through, but it was an extreme circumstance and a simple realignment fixed it with no further problems. Still a five star boot!

I use these for American foam fighting, and they are incredible! Very sturdy, delivery was faster than estimated, fits true to size, with a little extra because of the design to double sock for winter. grip is good in mud and grass, and stitching is well done. you can add an arch support if you want, but after a good four hour fighting day my feet feel great!
