I’ve heard a different story of the “Dark Wolf” at every tavern I’ve been to this month. Some are in fear, most are in awe… a better commander has likely never existed.

This new collection is breathtaking to look at and brutal to fight against, and will no doubt leave your enemies with many a tale to tell. We wanted to make something that was lightweight and strong, easy to move with, and a pleasure to fight in. “Dark Wolf” has been designed and forged specifically with fighting in mind, so we know you’ll love these amazing looking yet very functional items that will make you feel powerful and fearless like no other set of armor ever has before.

Most of the armor in this set has been inspired by our female “Dark Star” collection, which we have had countless requests to make for men as well! The collection is inspired by some of the fitted, slick aesthetics found in knightly armor in the XV century, which you can certainly see in some of the design elements of the whole set.

This gorget is neck protection, and armors you from the neck down to a point on your chest. It sits across your neck muscles and can be connected to pauldrons for additional shoulder protection. There are two main components to the armor: a neckpiece and a chest piece. The chest piece is made from slightly thicker steel and is quite solid, anatomically shaped to sit against you in just the right way. On top there is a floating neck portion that's articulated on the inside with the help of leather, making it easy to move your head and look around while wearing it. The whole piece has a hinge on one side and a push-pin mechanism on the other that allows you to put it on and take it off with ease.

We decided to use spring steel in the construction of this gorget because it’s a difficult material to work with, but has amazing results for our customers. We’re able to make our armor much thinner than we would out of other types of steel, without compromising on the structural integrity of it. This means that the end result is light, strong, and probably some of the most comfortable armor you’ve ever worn.

The whole gorget is very well constructed with solid rivets, washers, high-quality leather, and nice finishing touches such as leather edging to stop the steel from rubbing against your skin.
