Medieval Leather Boots “Armor-Bearer”
Handmade medieval lace-up boots
Admirable soft leather boots will be perfect finding if you are looking for a complement to your medieval costume of a knight or noble squire. The design of these shoes is based on XV century style.
Boots are made of soft leather. Its flexibility ensures that your leg can move freely when you are having any type of fighting practice whether it be wrestling, sword-fighting or archery.
These boots have modern soles that ensure a secure grip and are perfect for different types of activity - from usual walking to dancing, or reenactment medieval fighting. They consist of several layers: leather insole, leather fiber board, porous breathable orthopedic base and ribbed rubber outsole. This model cannot be made with authentic soles, but one can find many other historically accurate models with leather soles in our store.
Historical reference:
In early medieval times, shoes were sewn from two parts or cut from one piece of material. By the XV century standard shoe manufacture became more complex and patterns included more details. Made of numerous leather pieces, shoes had more complicated shape and fitted greatly.
Outsole (just like in our shoes) was made of much harder leather to protect feet from injuries and boot from early wear-out. In our boots, it is reliably sewed to the upper part. The thread is soaked with glue which makes it stronger and then is hidden into a cut in the outsole to prevent it from fraying.

Please take your measurements attentively - your carefulness will help us make your shoes perfect.
Also, you should remember that natural leather is soft material and it will stretch so when you are getting your new pair it is normal that it fits very slim. It will get your feet shape after one or two days of usage.

Look gerat and fit very nicely. The Leather is very soft and doesn't require a lot of wearing in. I advise to get thinner laces then the ones delivered though. All in all I am very pleased with the boots!

These boots are an excellent addition to my larping-kit. The stitching and the leather really feel and look sturdy and high-quality! Because of the lacing it takes some time to put them on but maybe I'll get faster at it after some more practice. I only expected them to fit more snugly around my feet after giving so many measurements, but now I have some extra room for my insoles.

when i place my order, should I order one size larger to leave room for my favorite cushion insert that I want to put in them?
Yes, I'd recommend you to do just as you do with other shoes you usually buy.
Do you sell the hose worn by the model?

Can these be made with the lacing on the insides of the boot? Im older and heavyset. It would be much easier to reach. Probably a good consideration for more sales too :) Thanks
Hi Ken, it is possible technically, but it means to alter the pattern completely and new model will cost twice more expensive, unfortunately.

Hello, I'm interested in some of the boots you offer - but I have extremely wide feet. Are you able to build shoes at that extreme? I can of course get more detailed measurements, but I thought I should ask before submitting any orders. Thank you for your help.
Yes, please let us know the following measurements: foot length, foot circumference, instep, heel, ankle, calf. Use our measurements guide to avoid mistakes.
Also, it would be just great if you could take pictures while measuring, so we could see your feet and check if the measurements are taken properly.

If we get these boots in black would the cuff be white? Also can they be made so they are a bit higher up on the leg, if so how high
The cuffs are ivory color, regardless of the main color of the boots. Unfortunately they cannot be made higher, sorry.
Seeking the deerhide brown boots that I've seen at many events, but quality made, preferably with rubber soles. I want them to look authentic but last for years. It is to be part of my wizard costume in LARP.
These boots may suit your needs, but please note that we use cattle leather. Can be made with rubber outsole, just add a comment to your order, no extra.
Hello. I just submitted an order for a pair of your "armor-bearer" boots (order code:67fedd9930). I intend to wear them for an old fashioned Santa Claus outfit. I would generally be wearing them inside (shopping malls etc). Do you think I need to get rubber soles? And if so, is it possible to add that to my order? Stephen Quinn
You'll need rubber soles to avoid slipping, as the floor tiles in the malls can be quite slippery.
