Medieval Leather Demi-Boots
Authentic footwear with handmade clasps
Classic medieval demi-boots will perfectly complete any SCA character`s garb or medieval style costume. They fit both fantasy and authentic character. Shoes will give you medieval look and modern comfort at the same time.
These demi-boots are 100% handmade of natural leather. Two belts are made of soft natural leather which provides size adjustment and slim fit at the ankle area. Clasps are handmade bronze casting pieces. They add marvelous accent and underline your style.
The boots have period leather soles. Upon request, authentic soles can be reinforced with the modern anti-slip rubber outsoles to prolong the service time of your loved shoes. This option is free, just mention it in the comment to your order. Rubber is more suitable if you are planning to use them on modern hard roads or have any fighting practice because rubber is not so slippery.
Historical reference:
Unique design of these shoes is based on samples of the late norman period. Current shoe shape was typical for most norman shoes but leather belts with clasps as a fastener are typical for the later period. These shoes will fit North European characters up to XII century.
A leather-working technology was quite primitive in medieval times and natural stretching of leather was commonly used in shoemaking to get feet`s shape. Our shoes are made by the same principle so after several days of wearing your new boots become really comfortable.
Important note about measurements:
Please take your measurements carefully — it will help us making these boots perfectly fit for you. Please also bear in mind that 100% natural leather shoes will stretch that`s why when you are getting your new shoes it is all right that they fit very slim. After one or two days of usage, your shoes will get the shape of your feet.

Hi, can I get these in either black or burgundy/wine color? If not, could I dye the lighter color one? Thanks for your time. ~Ken
These boots can be made of brown or light brown leather only, sorry.
Perhaps dyeing is acceptable, but we can not provide any recommendations or guarantees - we sell footwear as the finished product, this would be at your own risk.
Hmm, just to be sure, is this shoes comfortable? I mean, if I want to use it as a normal shoe? Or it's suited only/exclusively for events etc? Thanks.
Not sure this is the best choice for everyday wear. They are quite comfortable, comparing with the other medieval footwear, but not as slippers :)
